It binds to Pseudomonas aeruginosa elongation factor Tuf together with plasminogen， which is proteolytically activated. It is proposed that Tuf acts as a virulence factor by acquiring host proteins to the pathogen surface， controlling complement， and facilitating tissue invasion.
