LPP(LIM domain containing preferred translocation partner in lipoma),癌症关联基因,基因ID:4026,该基因编码LIM结构域蛋白亚家族的一个成员,其特征是N端富含脯氨酸区域和3个C端LIM结构域编码蛋白定位于细胞周围的局灶性粘连,可能与细胞粘附和细胞运动有关。这种蛋白质也通过细胞核穿梭,并可能作为转录辅激活剂发挥作用。该基因位于某些与疾病相关的染色体易位的接合处,导致可能促进肿瘤生长的嵌合蛋白的表达。选择性剪接导致多个转录变体[由RefSeq提供,2014年7月]This gene encodes a member of a subfamily of LIM domain proteins that are characterized by an N-terminal proline-rich region and three C-terminal LIM domains. The encoded protein localizes to the cell periphery in focal adhesions and may be involved in cell-cell adhesion and cell motility. This protein also shuttles through the nucleus and may function as a transcriptional co-activator. This gene is located at the junction of certain disease-related chromosomal translocations, which result in the expression of chimeric proteins that may promote tumor growth. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]。
