The best Spanish pop rock classic quartet
“Aupa Quartet” is coming to Beijing in 2016
Aupa Quartet much more just a string quartet. From their classical instruments comes music full of groove and spontaneity, music which displays their fusion of Jazz, Funk, Son and Flamenco through their own compositions: catchy tunes enhanced with intense improvisations.
Asier and Ramses, on violins. Felipe and Martin, viola and cello
All skilled musicians, perfectly suited to play all types of music with a combination of elegance and personality which is beginning to become known as the aupa style.
Since forming, they have played in the most important halls in Barcelona (where they currently reside), they have toured Italy and France and have made several visits to the Basque Country where, on their last trip, they played in the San Sebastian Jazz Festival in 2012.
In January 2014 they won first prize in the competion ‘Made in Shasta’.
During their career they have collaborated with a great many artists such as Antonio Rey, Farruquito, Antony & The Johnsons, India Martínez, Rafa Pons, Kiko Veneno, Lucas Masciano, Cece Giannotti, Carlos Torijano, Javier Galiana, Julian Sánchez, Raynald Colom, Sara Baras, Guillem Roma, Sandra Carrasco, Chuchito Valdés, Jerry González and Javier Colina.
