《等待戈多》 Waiting For Godot
两个好朋友戈戈和狄狄在乡间小路旁等待神秘的戈多的到来。他们并不知道戈多是谁，也不知道他是干什么的，却一直相信戈多会有一天出现来解救他们。在等待中，主仆二人波卓和幸运儿路过和他们相遇，休息一阵之后又离开了。直到一个小男孩捎来口信，告诉他们戈多今天不来，明天准来。而在第二天又重复着同样的事情，使两人无休止地等待下去。
贝克特以戏剧化的荒诞幽默的手法，探讨了人类生存活动的目的，以及人作为孤立的个体在世界中的相互陪伴和友谊的关系。
Two friends Didi and Gogo, wait by a country road for the mysterious Godot to arrive. They don’t know who he is or what he does but they believe he will save them. Two other travellers, Pozzo and Lucky, come by and rest for a while and then continue on their journey. A boy arrives with a message from Godot to say that ‘He won’t come today, but surely tomorrow’. The next day, the same thing happens all over again.
With much humour, the play poses questions, the purpose of life and about companionship and friendship.
