1984年4月,华沙艺术中心维特基耶维茨工作室(Witkiewicz Studio)的总监瓦尔德马·东布罗夫斯基,与时任波兰室内管弦乐团(Polish Chamber Orchestra)总监的弗朗齐歇克·怀伯兰茨柯,二人邀请颇具传奇色彩的小提琴家耶胡迪·梅纽因爵士来波兰演出,既独奏又指挥。为了配合演出曲目的要求,乐团需增加乐手,因此邀请波兰各地的知名音乐家同台演出。这几场由梅纽因执棒的音乐会赢得了听众热情的掌声以及乐评人的赞誉,梅纽因本人也欣然接受了东布罗夫斯基与怀伯兰茨柯二人的邀请,成为这个刚成立的乐团--华沙交响乐团--的首位客座指挥。

华沙交响乐团不久便应邀赴美国、加演出。随后,各地的邀请纷至沓来,如德国、法国、意大利、西班牙、奥地利、芬兰、葡萄牙、比利时、荷兰、英国、瑞士、希腊、阿根廷、巴西、智利、香港、日本、韩国以及台湾。该团曾登台世界顶级的音乐厅,包括纽约的卡耐基音乐厅、巴黎的香榭丽舍剧院、伦敦的巴比肯艺术中心、维也纳的音乐协会金色大厅、布宜诺斯艾利斯的科隆剧院、东京的三得利音乐厅以及慕尼黑的赫拉克勒斯音乐厅等。

1997年,潘德列茨基担任乐团的音乐总监。他从2003年7月至今担任该团艺术总监,并经常担任该团指挥。

2008年至2012年,蜚声世界的法国指挥家马克·明科夫斯基担任该团音乐总监。2004年,弗朗齐歇克·怀伯兰茨柯将乐团总监这一职位交由助手雅努什·马里诺夫斯基担任。他也是该乐团的资深演奏家。

在2007年底之前,该团隶属于华沙艺术中心维特基耶维茨工作室,自2008年起成为文化局下属机构,归口于华沙市政府。

2010年华沙交响乐团迁到新址--普拉格区克罗克夫斯卡街272号。华沙市政当局立项,为新音乐厅及乐团新总部的建筑设计进行国际招标,来自奥地利格拉茨的托马斯·普克尔工作室最终赢得竞标。

2014年为华沙交响乐团成立三十周年。

捷尔吉·马克西缪克,指挥

Jerzy Maksymiuk, conductor

指挥家、作曲家与钢琴家捷尔吉·马克西缪克1936年出生于格罗德诺。

他在华沙音乐学院分别获得钢琴(师从耶日·勒菲尔德)、作曲(师从皮奥特·佩尔科夫斯基)与指挥(师从博古斯拉夫·马代)三个学位。

他在音乐比赛中数次折桂,曾获得在比得哥煦举办的波兰帕代雷夫斯基国家级钢琴比赛一等奖、在卡托维兹举办的国家即兴演奏比赛的一等奖(1962)。在克拉科夫举办的阿图尔·玛拉维斯基作曲大赛以及在卡托维兹举办的斐特尔博卡作曲大赛中,他均获奖项。

1970年到1972年间,他在华沙大剧院任指挥,指挥过多部作品的首演,包括巴尔吉尔斯基创作的《小王子》、马图兹扎克创作的《罗密欧与朱丽叶》、卢托斯瓦夫斯基创作的《波兰芭蕾》中的音乐部分以及他本人创作的《言外》(1971年)。1972年,由原华沙室内歌剧团的音乐家组成了波兰室内管弦乐团。在马克西缪克的带领下,该团在国际上大获赞誉。

1973年,马克西缪克开始与波兰广播交响乐团合作,并赴美国巡演。1975到1977年间,他担任该乐团的首席指挥及艺术总监。

为表彰他在BBC苏格兰交响乐团期间所取得的成就,格拉斯哥的斯特拉斯克莱德大学授予他荣誉博士学位。他还获得埃尔加协会授予的金质奖章,以表扬他在世界范围内对埃尔加作品的推广。他还以客席指挥的身份与多个交响乐团合作,如以色列室内管弦乐团、洛杉矶室内乐团、东京大都会交响乐团、悉尼交响乐团等。

捷尔吉·马克西缪克在学生时代即开始为电影创作音乐,并以此开始了他的作曲生涯。他曾为大约二百部纪录片及故事片写过音乐,其中包括由沃伊契赫哈斯(Wojciech Has)导演的影片《沙漏疗养院》。他最近还为由宝拉尼格利主演的默片《疯魔》写了85分钟的音乐,在电影放映时现场演奏。

马克西缪克获得过很多奖项,包括波兰共和国的十字勋章、艺术荣耀金奖章以及颁发给杰出荧屏人物的终生成就超级大奖。此外,他还被授予比亚韦斯托克荣誉市民称号。

帕维乌·瓦卡雷希,钢琴

Paweł Wakarecy, piano

帕维乌·瓦卡雷希自1995年起跟随斯卡尔切夫斯卡接受音乐教育,并在彼得高斯茨的诺沃维耶斯基音乐学院跟随波波瓦季德龙学习钢琴。2011年以优秀成绩毕业后,他成为了他母校的助教。

他的演奏能力在很多大师课中得到提高比如:伯纳德·瑞格恩、坡博沃斯卡、雅克·鲁维耶, 邓泰山、米哈伊尔·沃斯克列辛斯基与尼尔森‧葛尔纳等。

他曾参加过很多国内外的青少年钢琴比赛,其中包括在匝甘举办的"全波兰钢琴锦标赛"(1996年)二等奖、在戈而茹夫·维尔阔泊斯基举办的巴赫钢琴大赛(1998年)三等奖、在柯宁举办的"全波兰钢琴大赛"(2002年)二等奖、在克拉科夫举办的EPTA钢琴大赛(2003年)三等奖。他还在比得哥煦举办的帕德雷夫斯基国际钢琴大赛中获得特别奖,并在2009年达姆施塔特举办的肖邦国际钢琴大赛中进入决赛。

2010年在华沙举办的第16届肖邦国际钢琴大赛中,他被授予了"评价最高的波兰选手"这一殊荣。

帕维乌·瓦卡雷希在波兰很多著名的音乐厅都举办过音乐会,比如杜兹尼奇·兹卓耶肖邦音乐节和华沙的"肖邦与欧洲"音乐节,并在德国、瑞典、俄罗斯、保加利亚、法国、瑞士、比利时、挪威、意大利、英国、中国、日本和智利等地登台献艺。2012年他随波兰电台"阿玛笃斯"室内管弦乐团一起,赴乌克兰巡演,并在莫斯科举办了自己的独奏音乐会。2013年,他在与肖邦生平有重要关联的许多地点表演,如法尔德摩萨举办的肖邦音乐节、维也纳音乐堂的舒伯特厅以及法国诺昂举办的肖邦音乐节等。

最近,帕维乌·瓦卡雷希与妻子亚历山德拉·苏班·瓦卡雷希成立了瓦卡雷希钢琴二重奏。

雅各布·豪法,小提琴

Jakub Haufa, violin

雅各布·豪法1980年生于波兹南,在帕德列夫斯基音乐学院师从卡利泽夫斯卡(Jadwiga Kaliszewska),之后以优异成绩毕业。其后又随查尔斯·特雷格尔、曼弗雷德·薛尔泽、玛丽娜·亚什维利、克里斯托弗·维格利恩、万达·维乌阔米尔斯卡、安永徹以及阿利桑德罗·卡泊纳等人进修。他获得过波兹南市议会(2001年)及波兰文化与国家遗产部(2000-2003年度)颁发的奖学金,并于2009年获得了第六届"青年波兰"奖学金。

自2003年9月以来,雅各布·豪法开始在波兹南母校任教,并于2013年在该校获得博士学位。

雅各布·豪法曾在国内外多项小提琴比赛中获奖,其中包括1999年在卢布林举行的国家塞尔瓦岑斯基青年小提琴家大赛二等奖、1999年在波兹南举办的第六届国家亚恩克小提琴大赛二等奖,以及2001年在波兹南举办的第12届国际维尼亚夫斯基小提琴大赛优秀奖。

Yehudi Menuhin

In April of 1984, Waldemar Dąbrowski, director of the St. I. Witkiewicz Studio Centre for the Arts in Warsaw and Franciszek Wybrańczyk, director of the then extant Polish Chamber Orchestra invited the legendary violinist Sir Yehudi Menuhin to perform in Poland as soloist and conductor. To match the exigencies of the planned repertoire, the orchestra increased the number of its members, inviting renowned musicians from all over Poland to perform together. The ensemble's initial concerts under the direction of Yehudi Menuhin were enthusiastically applauded by audiences and praised by critics, while Lord Menuhin himself did not hesitate to accept Waldemar Dąbrowski's and Franciszek Wybrańczyk's proposal to become the first guest conductor of the newly established symphony orchestra named Sinfonia Varsovia.

The Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra was soon invited to play concerts in the United States and Canada, with more invitations to follow - from Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Finland, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Switzerland and Greece, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Taiwan. Sinfonia Varsovia has performed in the world's most celebrated concert halls, including New York's Carnegie Hall, Théatre des Champs Elysées in Paris, the Barbican Centre in London, Vienna's Musikverein, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Suntory Hall in Tokyo and Herkulessaal in Munich.

The Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra played at renowned festivals in Salzburg, Gstaad (the Yehudi Menuhin Festival), Aix-en-Provence, Montreux, La Roque d'Anthéron, Schleswig-Holstein, the Pablo Casals Festival, Würzburg, Alte Oper (Frankfurt am Mein), Beethovenfest Festival in Bonn, La Folle Journée, La Roque d'Antheron, Festival de Musique de Menton, Queen Elisabeth Musical Voyage, the Chopin and His Europe festival, the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival, the Warsaw Autumn festival and the Chain festival, devoted to Witold Lutosławski.

Since 2010, the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra has been organising the La Folle Journée Festival in Warsaw together with René Martin, director of the French C.R.E.A. association.

Of special note is the Franciszek Wybrańczyk Sinfonia Varsovia To Its City Festival. This project was initiated in 2001 by Franciszek Wybrańczyk, the founder and long-time Director of the orchestra. The festival is accessible to the public at large and it has become a landmark on the cultural landscape of Warsaw, becoming a favourite among music-lovers of the capital of Poland. The festival aims to showcase the greatest works of music literature as performed by the Sinfonia Varsovia with famous soloists and conductors.

The orchestra's repertoire is exceptionally extensive, ranging from 18th century works to contemporary compositions. The orchestra has played Polish and world premieres.

Snfonia Varsovia has performed with many distinguished conductors, including Claudio Abbado, Charles Dutoit, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Jacek Kaspszyk, Emmanuel Krivine, Witold Lutosławski, Lorin Maazel, Paul McCreesh, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Yehudi Menuhin, Krzysztof Penderecki and During and soloists as Piotr Anderszewski, Martha Argerich, Yuri Bashmet, Boris Berezovsky, Teresa Berganza, Rafał Blechacz, Frank Braley, Alfred Brendel, Gautier Capuçon, Reanud Capuçon, Piotr Paleczny, José Carreras, Placido Domingo, Augustin Dumay, Stephen Hough, Sharon Kam, Kiri Te Kanawa, Nigel Kennedy, Gidon Kremer, Radu Lupu, Albrecht Mayer, Mischa Maisky, Shlomo Mintz, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Olga Pasiecznik, Murray Perahia, Maria João Pires, Ivo Pogorelić, Vadim Repin, Mstislav Rostropovich, Henryk Szeryng, Andreas Vollenweider, Christian Zacharias and Frank Peter Zimmermann.

Sinfonia Varsovia has made numerous recordings on compact disc and for radio and television. The orchestra boasts a discography of more than 260 albums, recorded for famous international labels: Decca, Denon Nippon Columbia, Deutsche Grammophon, EMI, Naïve, Naxos, Sony, Virgin Classics and for Polish labels, including BeArTon, CD Accord, DUX, Polskie Nagrania and Polskie Radio. Many of these recordings received prestigious music awards, including the Diapason d'Or, Diapason Découverte, Grand Prix du Disque and, on more than one occasion, the Polish Fryderyk award.

Krzysztof Penderecki became the orchestra's musical director in 1997 and its artistic director in July 2003, a position he still holds, often also working together with the ensemble as its conductor.

In 2008-2012 the post of the orchestra's musical director was held by the world-famous French conductor Marc Minkowski. In 2004, Franciszek Wybrańczyk handed over the duties of the director of Sinfonia Varsovia to Janusz Marynowski - his assistant and long-time musician in the orchestra.

Until 31 December 2007, the orchestra operated from the St. I. Witkiewicz Studio Art Centre in Warsaw. On 1 January 2008, the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra became a council cultural institution. The Orchestra's coordinator is the Capital City Of Warsaw.

In 2010 the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra has received a new home at 272 Grochowska Street in Warsaw's Praga District. That year, the authorities of the city of Warsaw have announced an international competition for the design of a concert hall and architectural development of the Orchestra's new headquarters. In 2014 the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra celebrated the 30th Anniversary of its activity.

Jerzy Maksymiuk, conductor

Conductor, composer and pianist, born in Grodno in 1936.

He holds diplomas in piano (Jerzy Lefeld's class) composition (Piotr Perkowski's class) and conducting (Bogusław Madey's class) from the Warsaw Conservatory.

He is a laureate of several music competitions. He won the first prize in the National Ignacy Jan Paderewski Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz and the first prize in the National Improvisation Competition in Katowice (1962). He also took prizes in the Artur Malawski composition competition in Cracow and the Grzegorz Fitelberga composition competition in Katowice.

From 1970 to 1972 he was a conductor at the Grand Theatre in Warsaw, where he led a number of premiere performances at the Chamber Scene, including "The Little Prince" by Zbigniew Bargielski, "Romeo and Juliette" by Bernadetta Matuszczak "Polish Ballets" for the music by Witold Lutosławski and his own piece "Metaphrases" (1971). In 1972 he assumed leadership of a band formed by the Warsaw Chamber Opera musicians, which gained international acclaim under the name of the Polish Chamber Orchestra.

In 1973 Jerzy Maksymiuk began cooperation with the Polish Radio Grand Symphony Orchestra, with which he toured the United States. From 1975 to 1977 he was the Orchestra's chief conductor and artistic director.

Recognition gained during the Polish Chamber Orchestra's first tour abroad in 1977, particularly in the UK, resulted in a recording contract signed with EMI and a number of performances with British orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1979 he made an appearance with the Polish Chamber Orchestra at Carnegie Hall in New York and in 1981 they made a worldwide tour, including Japan, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Germany.

Jerzy Maksymiuk's remarkable conducting career peaked with this orchestra as according to a number of critics he led it to unparalleled heights of perfection. He individualized its sound, broke with traditional phrasing and also shocked listeners with speeds reaching the limits of musicians' possibilities. His renditions of the 18th century piece "Tamburetta" by Adam Jarzębski and of Rossini's "Sonatas" made history. The Polish Chamber Orchestra gained international fame.

From 1983 to 1993 Jerzy Maksymiuk was the chief conductor of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in Glasgow and the band under his leadership was recognized as one of top British classical music ensembles. In 1990 ha made a debut at the BBC Proms at Royal Albert Hall in London, where he made a total of more than 20 appearances. He also made tours in Poland with BBC SSO, including two appearances at the Warsaw Autumn Festival. Meanwhile he started cooperation with the English National Opera, conducting the premiere performances of Mozart's "Don Giovanni" (1991) and Strauss's "The Revenge of the Bat" (1993).

Jerzy Maksymiuk is a great promoter of contemporary music. For many years he was a member of the Warsaw Autumn Festival's repertoire committee. He inspired a number of pieces written for the Polish Chamber Orchestra and during his leadership of the BBC SSO he made sure that each performance started with a piece by a contemporary Scottish composer.

To mark his achievements with the BBC SSO the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow awarded him with the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Letters. He was also presented with the prestigious Gold Medal from the Elgar Society for promoting Edward Elgar's music worldwide. He also appeared as a guest conductor with such ensembles as the Israel Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

He made over 100 recordings for such labels as EMI (13), Hyperion and Naxos. A number of them received prestigious awards, including the Wiener Floeten Uhr for Mozart's recording with the Polish Chamber Orchestra (1982), the Gramophone Award - twice, for the recordings of James Macmillan's "The Confession of Isobel Gowdie" (EMI, 1992) and Nikolai Medtner's "Piano Concertos" (Hyperion,1995, with Nikolai Demidenko as the soloist). In Poland his recordings won several Fryderyk awards, including the recording of Witold Lutosławski's works made with Sinfonia Varsovia, Janusz Olejniczak (piano) and Olga Pasiecznik (soprano).

Jerzy Maksymiuk is also a composer (symphonic music, chamber and ballet pieces, songs and film scores). His recent compositions include "Arbor vitae" (oratorio, 2003), "Red Moon" (2004), "Whispers and A Cry of Dreams" (for cello and chamber orchestra, 2005), "Four Colors" (concerto for two violins and chamber orchestra, 2006), "Vivaldi in Boston "(for Baroque orchestra, 2011), "Leaves Somewhere Falling"(for chamber orchestra, 2011), "Heart Lamentation, Kielce in memoriam"(for orchestra and a female voice, 2012),"Dedications" for strings and piano, 2014, "Vers" for strings, 2014.

Jerzy Maksymiuk made a debut as a film music composer when he was still a student. He has written scores for about 200 documentaries and feature films, including "Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass" directed by Wojciech Has. His latest achievement in this field is a score for the silent film „Mania" starring Pola Negri (85 minutes of music performed live during screenings).

Jerzy Maksymiuk has received a number of medals, including Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland and the Gloria Artis Gold Medal. He also won the Superwiktor lifetime achievement award for outstanding television personalities. Mr Maksymiuk is the Honorary Citizen of Białystok.

Paweł Wakarecy, Piano

After completing his music school education with Ewa Skarżewska in Toruń (from 1995) and piano studies with Katarzyna PopowaZydroń at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, Paweł Wakarecy graduated with honours in 2011 and became an assistant lecturer on the faculty of his alma mater.

He developed his abilities at master classes taught by e.g. Bernard Ringeissen, Ewa Pobłocka, Jacques Rouvier, Dang Thai Son, Mikhail Voskresensky and Nelson Goerner.

The pianist took part in national and international piano competitions for children and youth, including the All Polish Piano Tournament in Żagań (2nd prize, 1996), the J. S. Bach Competition in Gorzow Wielkopolski (3rd prize, 1998), the All Polish Piano Competition in Konin (2nd prize, 2002), and the EPTA Competition in Cracow (3rd prize, 2003). He received special awards in the International I.J. Paderewski Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz (2007) and was a finalist of the International F. Chopin Competition in Darmstadt (2009).

In the 16th International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2010), he was awarded a distinction and a special award "for the most highly assessed Polish participant".

Paweł Wakarecy gave concerts in prestigious halls in Poland (e.g. Duszniki Zdroj Chopin Festival, Chopin and his Europe Festival in Warsaw) as well as abroad in Germany, Sweden, Russia, Bulgaria, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Norway, Italy, Great Britain, China, Japan and Chile. In 2012 he toured Ukraine with the ‘Amadeus' Chamber Orchestra of the Polish Radio and gave a recital in Moscow. In 2013 he performed in important places connected with Chopin's life- at Chopin festival in Valldemossa (Mallorca), in Schubert Saal of Vienna Konzerthaus and at Chopin Festival in Nohant(France).

The artist has played with such ensembles as: Toruń Symphony Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, the Polish Radio Orchestra, the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, Sinfonia Iuventus Polish Orchestra, the Polish Philharmonic Sinfonia Baltica, the majority of philharmonic orchestras in Poland, ensemble Multicamerata, as well as the Russian Chamber Orchestra in St Petersburg and the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, under the baton of Agnieszka Duczmal, Antoni Wit, Marek Moś, Łukasz Borowicz, Zygmunt Rychert, Jerzy Salwarowski, Czesław Grabowski, Daniel Smith, Mitsuioshi Oikawa.

With his wife, Aleksandra Sobon Wakarecy he recently formed the Wakarecy Piano Duo.

Jakub Haufa, violin

Born in 1980 in Poznań, he graduated with a distinction from the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań after studies with Jadwiga Kaliszewska (2003). He developed his abilities with Charles Treger, Manfred Scherzer, Marina Jashvili, Krzysztof Węgrzyn,Wanda Wiłkomirska, Toru Yasunaga and Alessandro Cappone. He obtained scholarships from the City Council of Poznań (2001) and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (2000-2003); he was also awarded in the 6th "Young Poland" Scholarship Programme in 2009.

Since September 2003, Jakub Haufa has been on the faculty of his Alma Mater in Poznań, where in February 2013 he was granted a habilitated doctoral degree.

Jakub Haufa has won numerous awards and distinctions in national and international violin competitions, including: the 2nd prize in the National Stanisław Serwaczyński Competition for Young Violinists in Lublin (1999), the 2nd prize in the 6th National Zdzisław Jahnke Competition for Violinists in Poznań (1999), and an honourable mention in the 12th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition in Poznań (2001).

As a soloist, he has performed with such eminent artists as: Krzysztof Penderecki, JacekKaspszyk, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Jan Krenz, Grzegorz Nowak, Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Marc Minkowski, Nigel Kennedy, Albrecht Mayer, Gabor Boldoczki, Michael Nyman (music for the film Jestem - I Am) and Jarosław Śmietana, in such famous concert halls as e.g. the Suntory Hall in Tokyo, philharmonic halls in Berlin, Munich and Cologne, Leipzig Gewandhaus, the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, the Tonhalle in Düsseldorf, Theatre des Champs-Elysees, Les and Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Tonhalle in Zurich, Auditorio Nacional de Musica in Madrid and Berwaldhallen in Stockholm. He has appeared as a soloist at such festivals as La Folle Journee, La Roque d'Antheron and the Baltic Sea Festival.

Since 2003, Jakub Haufa has been the principal concertmaster of the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra, with which he has toured throughout the world and recorded extensively for the radio, television and record companies. He has frequently led the Polish Chamber Orchestra - Sinfonia Varsovia from the concert master's chair during concerts and recording sessions which featured such musicians as Nigel Kennedy, Vadim Repin, Albrecht Mayer, Sir James Galway, Gabor Boldoczki, Sergey Nakariakov, Boris Berezovsky and Ryu Goto.

In 2006, EMI released the DVD Live at the Citadelle, containing the Polish Chamber Orchestra's concert at Carcassonne in France with Jakub Haufa and Nigel Kennedy as soloists in Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto in C major for two violins. The concert was also frequently broadcast on TV by MEZZO. In August 2006, Deutsche Grammophon brought out the solo album New Seasons by the oboist Albrecht Mayer (followed in 2007 by a DVD), on which Jakub Haufa features as the concert master and a soloist.

In March 2012 played as a guest concertmaster with the National Symphony Orchestra of Polish Radio in Katowice.

Autumn 2012 in cooperation with the Polish Radio Programme and CD Accord released his album of Strauss and Shostakovich Sonatas and the world premiere recording of Krzysztof Penderecki Ciaccona version for violin and viola.

The artist plays an early 19th-century violin built by Nicolas Lupot and an instrument specially built for him by Stephan von Baehr (Paris, 2010). The bow was also specially made and dedicated to him by Benoit Rolland (Boston, 2010).
