音乐剧《妈妈再爱我一次》是一部反映都市家庭生活伦理的音乐剧。她讲述一段母与子之间“爱”的故事。母爱的宽容与伟大是一个永恒不变的主题，在看似悲情的题材中却暗藏了无尽的暖意。该剧延续二十年前同名电影中《世上只有妈妈好》的主题旋律，结合SALSA音乐中的动感节奏，既能带给观众最纯真的感动，也能将当代都市的繁华与时尚透过朗朗上口的音乐、精良制作的舞美、极富设计的服装精致地展现出来。
雯娜是一名专业的拉丁舞演员,她与家族企业的继承人志强相恋并有了身孕。可是因为门第悬殊,志强的母亲坚决不同意他们的婚事。倔强的雯娜决定生下儿子小强，靠自己的力量将他抚养长大。
小强8岁时，与母亲一起作为特邀嘉宾参加了“全国拉丁舞大赛”的节目录制。当母子都沉浸在成功的喜悦之中时，志强母亲的到访搅乱了原本平静幸福的生活。原来，志强虽然已经结婚多年，却一直没有孩子。为了替家族企业找到继承人，志强的母亲决定不惜一切代价，要回小强的抚养权。为了小强的学业和未来的前途，雯娜忍痛将儿子交给奶奶去抚养。没想到，母子俩的命运从此发生了巨大的改变。
几年后，小强被奶奶送回了雯娜的身边，原因是志强和妻子有了自己的孩子。对失而复得的儿子，雯娜心怀歉疚，加倍补偿！可此时的小强已经和妈妈之间产生了巨大的隔阂，他一心只想离开，去远方追寻自己的幸福生活。
为了供小强去日本留学，母亲加倍工作，到处借钱，最后不惜变卖房产。3年过去了，母亲盼星星盼月亮一样地盼望着小强回到自己身边，没想到等来的却是儿子要和女友一起去巴黎继续深造的消息。面对高额的留学保证金，母亲实在是无力承担，终于在小强回国问母亲要钱的时候，两人发生了激烈的争执，失去理智的小强将刀刺入了母亲弱小的身躯。
“刺母事件”在社会上引起了巨大的反响，小强成了世人唾骂的逆子，而母亲也饱受溺爱无度，教子无方的非议和谴责！法庭之上，面对公诉人的指控，小强无言以对，而作为“受害人”的母亲却站出来替儿子辩护！她的忏悔和求情让法庭上所有的人为之动容！
监狱服刑期间，小强不断地回想自己的生活是如何一点一点走到今天的---他无法原谅自己，陷入了深深的羞愧和自责之中。狱中的“老大”用自己的亲身经历开导了小强，让他明白沉浸在过去的错误里是没有用的，人必须承认错误并且改正它，这样才能够开始新的生活。
小强刑满出狱，见到的却是坐在轮椅上，不再说话也不再认识任何人的母亲！小强的爱能否唤醒妈妈，得到她的原谅？妈妈又能否再爱他一次呢？------
Wenna is a professional Latin dancer who falls in love with Zhiqiang, the heir to a successful family business.
They have a child
together, but due to the great disparity in their family status, Zhiqiang’s mother strongly opposed their marriage.
Undaunted,
Wenna decides to give birth to her son Xiaoqiang and raise him on her own.
When Xiaoqiang turns 8, mother and son receive a special invitation to participate in the television recording
of the
“National Latin Dance Competition.” Right when they relish their success, Zhiqiang’s mother enters the
scene and
disturbs their peaceful life. Although Zhiqiang married another woman years before, they are unable to
have a child.
Grandmother therefore decides to reclaim her grandson at any price in order to guarantee an heir to
the family.
As Xiaoqiang’s schooling weighs heavily on Wenna’s mind, she entrusts her son to his grandmother.
Fate turns
their lives dramatically from that point onward.
A few years later, Zhiqiang and his wife are finally able to conceive their own child.
As a result, Xiaoqiang returns
to his mother. Wenna feels sorry for him, trying even harder to lavish him with her love.
Unfortunately, a rift grows between Wenna and her son—a young man yearning to follow his own path.
In order to support Xiaoqiang’s studies in Japan, Wenna works hard, borrows money wherever possible,
and finally resorts to selling her own home. Three years later, while Wenna eagerly awaits her son’s return,
news arrives that he plans to pursue further education in Paris with his girlfriend. Unable to pay such hefty
fees to support his studies she pleads with him, and a fierce argument ensues when Xiaoqiang demands
the money. At one instant, he loses his mind and brutally stabs his mother. This incident arouses strong
repercussions and public reactions. Xiaoqiang is reviled by the world as a spoilt and disobedient son,
his mother condemned for improper parenting and excessive indulgence.
Xiaoqiang seems deaf to the prosecutor’s allegations. Despite being the “victim,” Wenna stands up for
her son’s defense, with a confession and plea that break people’s hearts!
After he is released from jail, Xiaoqiang visits his mother, who is now confined to a wheelchair, unable to
talk or recognize anybody around her. Will the son’s love save his mother? Will someone be forgiven?
Will the mother love her son again?
