全新演绎希区柯克名作
《搏命两头腾》（The 39 Steps）灵感来自英国电影艺术大师希区柯克（Alfred Hitchcock）的名作《国防大机密》及约翰·巴肯（John Buchan）的小说，英国著名编剧派特里克·巴罗（Patrick Barlow）将两者结合，改编而成这部舞台喜剧。该剧曾于2007年获奥利弗最佳喜剧奖。
故事发生在抗战时期战云密布的香港，生无可恋的夏棕林途经油麻地戏院，想颓废地消磨又一个晚上，万料不到，即将上演的，居然是一场惊心动魄、横跨九龙新界与黑白两道的千里大追捕，而他就是主角！一下枪声、一具女尸、一个机密！为了自身清白，为了家国安危，他决定：“搏命两头腾！”
演前三罐红牛，挑战演员极限
《搏命两头腾》绝对称得上挑战演员的极限，四位演员除了要演出自己的角色外，还不时要变身分演其他角色，其中两位演员更分别要饰演近十二个角色，时男时女，时长时幼：角色有夫妇、报贩、警察、黑帮人物、乡民……剧中形象百变多端，务求让演员在舞台上“搏命两头腾”，加强戏剧的张力，营造紧张刺激的效果。无论是变化多端的角色，还是紧张的大追捕剧情，都为这出喜剧突显出“搏命两头腾”的效果，令观众欣赏到风趣又刺激的演出。
令观众意想不到的现场声效
《搏命两头腾》采用现场演奏及声效，在配乐中利用了上百件道具，务求令声效更加活灵活现，同时丰富了表演的层次及质感，为观众带来崭新及震撼的舞台体验。
中英剧团
成立于1979年，为香港地区最资深的职业剧团之一，现任艺术总监为古天农先生。中英初为英国文化协会附属组织，1982年注册成为非盈利独立团体，目前由香港特别行政区政府资助，并接受私人及商业机构赞助，旨在共同推动戏剧艺术、戏剧教育与外展活动。中英自2008年起为葵青剧院场地伙伴，曾于2009至2012年度同时成为元朗剧院场地伙伴。
透过制作兼具香港本土特色与国际视野的优秀剧目，中英积极拓展多元的艺术探索和文化交流，同时肩负向普罗大众推广舞台艺术、提升人文素质的使命。中英至今公演超过250出的剧目，在过去二十一届香港舞台剧奖颁奖礼中获得逾百项提名，共夺得75个奖项。

Synopsis
Richard Hannay, our jaded hero, sets out for a night of entertainment at a theatre, only to be involved with a conspiracy to smuggle a top secret out of the country! It leads to a series of improbable adventures, with him pursued by both police and villains while trying to figure out the meaning of “Thirty-Nine Steps” in order to save his own life and his country.
Chung Ying Theatre Company
Founded as an auxiliary of the British Council in 1979, Chung Ying Theatre Company (Chung Ying) became an independent non-profit making theatre company in 1982. Nowadays, Chung Ying is one of the leading local professional theatre companies, financially supported by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region with generous sponsorships from individuals and commercial organizations. Led by Artistic Director Ko Tin Lung, Chung Ying strives to connect people with drama by stage performances, drama education and outreach programs. Chung Ying has become the venue partner of Kwai Tsing Theatre since 2008, and was the venue partner of Yuen Long Theatre in from 2009 to 2012.
Chung Ying dedicated itself to produce quality stage productions with an aim to promote theatrical arts, facilitate cultural exchanges and enrich the city’s cultural life. Their productions are full of local characteristics while with an international perspective. Over the past 33 years, Chung Ying has staged more than 250 performances, receiving over 100 nominations and 75 awards in the past twentieth Hong Kong Drama Awards.
Being the first theatre company to introduce “Theatre-in-Education”, Chung Ying has held almost 3,500 touring performances, recording a number of over 420,000 audiences, and was prized for their efforts in promoting drama education. In addition, Chung Ying also organizes a wide variety of outreach programs and professional trainings for tertiary institutions, junior and high schools and local organizations throughout the territory.
